Aurobindo Pharma claimed that with these approvals the company now has 11 products approved by Health Canada.
Cefprozil is a second-generation cephalosporin type antibiotic. In Europe, it is sold by the name Procef. It can be used to treat bronchitis, ear infections, skin infections and other bacterial infections. It comes as a tablet and as a liquid suspension.
Aurobindo Pharma said that it is the generic equivalent of Canadian reference product Cefzil of Bristol-Myers Squibb Canada and falls under the antibiotic therapeutic category.
