Mexican Generic Company Buys CONSIGMA’s Continuous Granulation, Drying Plant

Based on feasibility trials of the CONSIGMA, a shear granulation and drying system, in the process development center of GEA Pharma Systems nv – Collette, another Mexican generic company has decided to buy a large capacity unit.

GEA Pharma Systems has said that after evaluation of the quality of the produced granules and a comparison of investment and running costs between CONSIGMA and a traditional line, this company quickly realised the advantages of the continuous line and issued a purchase order.

Reportedly, an Eastern European generic player has decided to invest in the CONSIGMA. They also witnessed successful trials in GEA’s laboratory in Wommelgem and after making the comparison of investment and running cost, they came to the same conclusions. In their decision, also space requirement played an important role, which is about ¼ for CONSIGMA compared to a traditional granulation suite.

GEA Pharma Systems supplies processing technologies for the manufacturing of oral and parenteral dosage forms.
