RaySearch, Varian Strengthen Collaboration

RaySearch Laboratories, a medical technology company that develops software solutions for improved radiation therapy of cancer, has restructured its licence agreement with Varian Medical Systems to add one new product, strengthen the collaborative product development efforts and make it easier to add new capabilities and features to Varian’s Eclipse treatment planning system.

RaySearch Laboratories said that the Eclipse software currently incorporates three RaySearch developments, including tools for biological evaluation, biological optimisation, and conformal optimisation.

Johan Lof, CEO of RaySearch Laboratories, said: “Varian is a partner in the radiation therapy, so it is of great importance to RaySearch that we continue to strengthen our collaboration. Extending the partnership to include more development is a very positive step forward. We are proud to contribute toward the success of Eclipse.”

Jeff Amacker, director of clinical solutions of Varian Medical Systems, said: “This agreement reaffirms our commitment to this partnership. We are very pleased with the RaySearch technologies already integrated with Eclipse, and are eager to work with them to bring additional planning capabilities to our customers.”
