Gerresheimer, a pharmaceutical packaging manufacturer, has opened a R&D center in the US. It has also inaugurated a new factory in Spain for plastic drugs packaging.
The company has expanded it existing manufacturing plant in Peachtree City, Georgia, by establishing technological centre, which will aim at conducting research and development into plastics manufacturing.
The company has also expanded in Europe, where by it opened a plant in Masalaves, Valencia region, Spain. The company said that this step is partly in response to the standardisation of pharmaceutical packaging made of plastics.
The plant will supply products to Europe, which includes multifunctional dosage, pharmaceutical bottles and closure systems such as for eye drops, contact lens care products and nose sprays.
