Hospira names new corporate vice president of supply chain

Hospira, a specialty pharmaceutical and medication delivery company, has appointed Brian Meadows as its new corporate vice president of supply chain.

In this capacity, Mr Meadows will be responsible for enterprise-wide supply chain operations including demand and supply planning; strategic sourcing and supplier management; procurement; materials and production planning; transportation management and distribution operations.

In addition, Mr Meadows will lead the procurement effort within project fuel, Hospira’s multi-phased initiative designed to identify and liberate resources across the organization to reduce complexity, improve efficiencies and optimize financial performance.

Most recently, Mr Meadows was senior vice president of supply chain management at Sprint-Nextel, where he led the integration of the supply chain operations of Sprint and Nextel Communications.

Terrence Kearney, COO of Hospira, said: “Brian is a proven operations executive with leadership strengths in supply chain management and cost reduction. Establishing Hospira’s supply chain as a competitive advantage is a key strategic imperative, and we’re excited to have Brian leading this effort.”
