news.Germany-based Dr Willmar Schwabe Pharmaceuticals, a provider of herbal medicines and natural healthcare solutions, has acquired Dr Peithner Holding, a marketer of herbal medicines in Austria.

With this acquisition, Schwabe will expand its presence in Austria and central & eastern Europe (CEE).
Dirk Reischig, chairman and CEO of Dr Willmar Schwabe Pharmaceuticals, said: “We are very pleased that the Peithner group of companies joins Schwabe. For more than 50 years Schwabe and Peithner have already been working closely and successfully together – through joint ventures and otherwise – in distributing herbal medicines and homeopathics in Austria and subsequently CEE.
