ECO Receives Mexican Marketing Approval For Ecoheart

ECO Animal Health Group has announced that its subsidiary, ECO Animal Health (ECO) has been granted a marketing authorisation in Mexico for Ecoheart chewable tablets for dogs.

Reportedly, Ecoheart chewable tablets is the first animal product for which the company has received a marketing authorisation in Latin America. Further marketing authorisations in the key markets of the region are expected.

Ecoheart chewable tablets prevent heartworm disease and are also effective in the treatment and control of roundworms and hookworms in dogs, said the company. Canine heartworm infection is transmitted by mosquitoes. It is potentially fatal and requires a monthly preventative treatment.

Peter Lawrence, chairman of ECO Animal Health Group, said: “We are delighted to add this Ecoheart approval to our Ecomectin range of endectocides, where it is already licensed for sale in Japan. Heartworm can be an unpleasant killer of dogs especially in warmer climates when left untreated .This is a further important registration for the company’s portfolio of specialised drugs for animals.”
