AppliChem and Akron Biotech are merging forces for the manufacturing and distribution of both companies’ products. Effective March 2, 2009, Akron Biotech has taken over AppliChem’s operations in the Americas and is called AppliChem, LLC. Claudia Zylberberg, Akron Biotech’s CEO, will continue to operate as the president and CEO of AppliChem, LLC.
AppliChem, LLC is committed to offering its customers the same high quality products including animal serum, recombinant proteins, serum-free media and other cell-culture components in addition to AppliChem’s full list of 4,000 products such as amino acids and powder media, the two companies said.
Dr Zylberberg said: “The merger with AppliChem will allow us to expand our product offering dramatically, and will accelerate our company’s growth. It presents an opportunity for us to expand our presence in the market by adding their full line.”
