GSK to deploy Microsoft online services

Microsoft has signed an agreement with GlaxoSmithKline, or GSK, a UK-based healthcare group, to deploy its online services for GSK's employees worldwide.

According to Microsoft, GSK will deploy its Business Productivity Online Suite, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Office Communications Online, Office Live Meeting and the Deskless Worker Suite.

Bill Louv, chief information officer of GSK, said: “We have chosen Microsoft Online Services because it promises to deliver a simple intuitive information workplace that should not only value to the company through simplification, but provide an improved user experience and ultimately create a more productive GSK.”

Stephen Elop, president of Microsoft’s business division, said: “These services open up new possibilities for businesses to control costs while continuing to enhance the productivity of their employees. Customers can save between 10% and 50% in IT-related expenditures as a result of deploying Microsoft online services.”
