PharmaDerm introduces Kerol ZX and Kerol emulsion products

Specialty pharmaceutical company PharmaDerm, a division of Nycomed US, has launched Kerol ZX and kerol emulsion to the dermatology and podiatry markets. These specialty products are said to have been developed for improved treatment of dry skin and damaged nails.

The Kerol emulsion is supplied in a 10oz tube for application to larger skin surface areas. Kerol ZX is now supplied in a 12ml pre-filled applicator to deliver targeted relief to smaller areas such as nails, corns, and calluses.

According to the company, the Kerol products are indicated for debridement and promotion of normal healing of hyperkeratotic surface lesions and contain a zinc undecylate and lactic acid vehicle. They work by gently dissolving the intercellular matrix, resulting in the loosening of the horny outer layer of skin, and revealing healthy skin.

David Fink, general manager of PharmaDerm, said: “The Kerol family of products continues to evolve and improve. These new Kerol products provide physicians and patients with a continuum of new treatment options for dry skin and damaged nails.”
