news.BioImagene, a provider of digital pathology solutions for cancer diagnosis and preclinical research, has appointed Ajit Singh as its new CEO, effective October 6, 2008.

The founder and the current CEO, Mohan Uttarwar will remain with the company, serve on the board of directors, and take on the role of chief strategy officer.
Dr Singh had joined the board of directors of the company in July 2008, prior to the closing of the $26 million expansion financing round.
Most recently, Dr Singh has served as CEO of the image and knowledge management business of Siemens Healthcare, based in Germany. Dr Singh has a PhD in computer science from Columbia University.
Mr Uttarwar said: “We are very fortunate to have the insight and experience that Ajit brings to the table. I look forward to working closely with him to help BioImagene achieve a dominant position in digital pathology.”
