BiProUSA’s BioZzz instant alpha-lactalbumin supplement gets NSF International certification

BiProUSA has announced that BioZzz, an isolated whey protein, the purest form of alpha-lactalbumin (dairy protein) commercially available, has successfully completed the requirements of NSF International's Athletic Banned Substances Certification Program, Certified for Sport.

BioZzz is the highest natural source of tryptophan and contains no fat, carbs, sugar or lactose. Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that our bodies cannot live without. It is the main source of Serotonin and Melatonin, two things your neurological system needs for balanced functionality.

"Athletes end up exhausted traveling non-stop for six months out of a year. Jet lag, time zone changes and unfamiliar beds all contribute to not only lack of sleep, but also poor quality of sleep when they finally have time. This has a direct correlation with your performance level," explains Michael Lee, Sales Manager.

"With rigorous drug testing rules in effect you have to be extremely careful with what you consume. BioZzz is the only NSF Certified for Sport® natural sleep remedy that not only helps with your REM sleep cycle but also helps maintain your muscle development while you are sleeping."

To meet the growing demands of athletes, coaches and all those concerned about banned substances in sports supplements, NSF International developed an athletic banned substances certification program. This NSF Certified for Sport® program minimizes the risk that a dietary supplement or sports nutrition product contains a substance banned by one of the major sports organizations.

Each batch of BioZzz is tested and certified to ensure purity. NSF tests and certifies that BioZzz contains the identity and quantity of ingredients declared on the label. NSF also tests and certifies that it does not contain unacceptable quantities of unwanted contaminants for the recommended serving size.

Requirements evaluated by NSF International include:

  • Formulation and label review
  • Toxicology review
  • Facility Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspection
  • Laboratory analysis for label contents, undeclared ingredients and contaminants

These requirements are included in NSF/ANSI Standard 173, the only American national standard for dietary supplements, which NSF developed to address the safe manufacturing of dietary supplements. BioZzz was also screened for banned substances, which included screening for over 130 analytes.

For meeting these requirements, BioZzz’s label will bear the NSF Certified for Sport® logo allowing athletes, coaches and consumers to easily identify that a product has met NSF International’s stringent criteria. BioZzz is also listed on the NSF Website. Ongoing monitoring helps ensure compliance.
