news.Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, a specialty biopharmaceutical company, has appointed Masanori Ueda as the new senior vice president of business development at its wholly-owned subsidiary Sucampo Pharma Ltd, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan.

Mr Ueda will be responsible for licensing and commercialization activities in the Asia-Pacific area, including Japan. Mr Ueda graduated from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kyoto University.
Mr Ueda will report to Kunihiko Soneoka, president and CEO of Sucampo Pharma, Ltd, as well as to Ryuji Ueno, chairman and CEO of Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, Inc and a member of the Sucampo Pharma, Ltd board of directors.
