Iran is poised to compete in the global pharmaceutical arena, according to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, president of Iran. The president said that Iran has the capability to export medicines.

According to Mr Ahmadinejad, Iran has made great strides in the pharmaceuticals field and is ready to compete in the global pharmaceutical market. The president called upon the Iranian government to encourage the domestic pharmaceutical industry, which meets 95% of Iranian needs for medicines, to compete at the international level.
Mr Ahmadinejad also addded that the world trusts Iranian pharmacists because of their preference to human benefits rather than economic gains.
