BioReliance names new vice president of global biologics operations

BioReliance, a specialist provider of contract services to the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries, has appointed James Kramer as its new vice president of global biologics operations, a newly created position.

Dr Kramer joined BioReliance in December 2007 as vice president of operations for US biologics. In his new position, Dr Kramer’s responsibilities will be expanded to include all operations at the company’s three facilities in Scotland, located in Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh, Scotland.

Prior to joining BioReliance, Dr Kramer served as senior vice president and general manager of Talecris Plasma Resources and Talecris Biotherapeutics.

Dr Kramer has earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at Kean College of New Jersey and a doctorate in biochemistry at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

David Dodd, president, CEO and board chairman of BioReliance, said: “Jim is an excellent choice to lead our global biologics operations as we aggressively proceed in developing our organization to more effectively serve our clients. His leadership will ensure that BioReliance remains highly competitive as we develop and expand our customer base globally.”
