P&G sues Vi-Jon on Scope Outlast mouthwash

The Procter & Gamble (P&G) has sued Vi-Jon, a manufacturer and distributor of mouthwash, on Scope Outlast mouthwash in the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

The lawsuit seeks to stop Vi-Jon from violating P&G’s intellectual property and selling the infringing products.

The lawsuit alleges that Vi-Jon is violating P&G’s intellectual property by manufacturing and selling its private label mouthwash product to retailers.

P&G said Vi-Jon’s mouthwash product, specifically the bottle and label shape, infringes its design patents, trade dress, trademarks and copyright relating to its Scope Outlast mouthwash.

P&G Oral Care group president Charlie Pierce said Scope has invested in R&D to bring this product to market, and they take very seriously issues related to their intellectual property and competitive advantage.
