UCB Selects Cambridge Semantics’ Anzo Suite

To semantically link, analyse and report on scientific data generated throughout the company

Cambridge Semantics has announced that UCB has entered into a project with Cambridge Semantics using Anzo suite to semantically link, analyse and report on scientific data generated throughout the company.

The company said, Anzo Suite has rapid deployment, ease-of-use and advanced semantic functionality. Cambridge Semantics’ ability to seamlessly link Excel spreadsheets to a semantic fabric offers benefits not just in data accessibility, but also in preserving a known environment for scientists, so there is no learning curve.

Mike Cataldo, chief executive officer of Cambridge Semantics, said: “Cambridge Semantics has created the first truly practical semantic platform and tool-set that allows non-technical users to create data collaboration solutions for organisations in any industry. UCB is applying our Anzo suite to the task of automating what had been a tremendously resource-intensive process of collecting, normalising and reporting on assay data from a wide range of sources and structures around the world. With Anzo, they will eliminate a manual, error-prone process, allowing their scientists and analysts to focus on higher-value analysis and seek insight from the now semantically linked data sources.”

Phil Ashworth, principal scientist at UCB, said: “UCB has been exploring semantic technology solutions in a number of areas for several years now. We have worked with a number of major semantic technology solutions, and were attracted to Cambridge Semantics’ Anzo suite because of its ability to deliver tools that are not only powerful, but also practical, usable, flexible and scalable. We will semantically link and share views of scientific data coming in from a variety of internal and external sources around the world. The Anzo Suite will allow us to be up and running in days, and our analysts will be able to start using it with virtually no training at all.”
