McKesson Launches New Versions Of Lytec EHR

McKesson has released the latest and fastest versions of its Lytec electronic health record (EHR) and practice management solutions. The updated Lytec MD is a seamlessly combined CCHIT-certified EHR and practice management system that features Bright Note Technology, a proprietary chart automation function. It also features Lytec Connect, designed to enable the secure electronic delivery of patient data across care settings.

Bright Note Technology takes a physician’s exam notes and automatically completes the patient’s electronic chart, enabling quick data access for clinical care reports, optimized reimbursements and performance tracking. Powered by RelayHealth, Lytec Connect is a direct communications link between caregivers that reduces the costs, redundancies and errors associated with paper-based practices.

Lytec 2010 practice management can be purchased alone or as an integrated part of Lytec MD. The new software release contains a Windows-based workflow engine that enables physician practices to quickly and easily navigate and facilitate patient scheduling, billing and reporting.

David Henriksen, senior vice president and general manager of physician practice solutions at McKesson, said: “Many physician practices are struggling to keep up with all the paperwork and bureaucracy required for reimbursement and regulation compliance. We believe the innovation in our Lytec practice management and EHR offerings will enable doctors and their support teams to cut through the red tape with speed and confidence so they can focus on the health of their business and their patients.”
