news.Helix Medical, a global manufacturer for the medical device, health care, pharmaceutical, IVD, and biotech industries, has expanded to Europe with the establishment of Helix Medical Europe.

Helix Medical Europe begins production this month at their newly built, 55,000 square foot facility located in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Initial manufacturing services will include custom molding of silicone components for medical devices.
Within the next 12 months the company plans to add custom molding of thermoplastics and TPE’s, multi-component molding, as well as close tolerance single and multi-lumen extrusion of silicone and TPE’s.
Jorg Schneewind, president and CEO of Helix Medical, said: “Our objective is to move our operations closer to our customers so that we can serve their manufacturing and distribution needs on a global level. The fact that we were able to build on the infrastructure of an existing facility owned by our parent company, Freudenberg, created a tremendous opportunity for European expansion.”
