Labels are a simple and flexible way of directly and durably attaching the information required to the product. Worldwide distribution often makes it necessary to include different contents and languages into the label. More often than not, up to 40 different languages have to be accommodated as is the case with pharmaceutical products.
To optimize the use of space and therefore make packaging more efficient, the Melsungen specialist printer Faubel recommends using its Compact Label now available with a thumb index in contrasting colors. This variant contains up to 48 pages and provides clear product identification in an adequate, legible font size.
This index facilitates search within the booklet and can also indicate where the different language sections are – in addition to general content. Instructions for use, recipes or product series can be structured in several logical text sections. Thanks to our modern machinery and optimized work processes, it is possible to customize the format, material and design of our Faubel Compact® Label to suit a particular product. Because of its remarkable versatility, this label is suitable for many industries.
Especially for complex products such as drugs, thumb indexes allow quick access to key information. At the beginning of April this year, ISPE (International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering), a not-for-profit association operating worldwide, published
"Guidance for standardizing use of booklet labels in global clinical trials". In this guide, the use of booklet labels with index is considered to be extremely useful for patient compliance and desirable as a standard. In its research ISPE has given great consideration to the Faubel Compact® Label concept.
Faubel has also created a Plus Label with index as an alternative to the Compact Label and its many pages. Clear and "slim", this solution can easily replace conventional multi-layer labels: it offers plenty of room for different language versions, warnings or instructions for use on 3 to 5 pages only.
With their thumb indexes, both labeling solutions – the Faubel Compact® Label and the Plus Label – meet international market demands and give labeled products an obvious competitive advantage.
